18 Miles Later… August 30, 2009

CIMG4847

...this is what I looked like.

It ain’t pretty, but it’s real.

18.15 miles.  2 hours 55 minutes. 9:30 minutes/mile.  Booyah.

A high protein, carbful post-run snack made me look feel slightly better…

CIMG4845

Janetha C.C. Ranch Mix, beets + farmer's market plums

Actually, if I am going to be honest with y’all, the run was awesome.  Long, but awesome.  Honestly.  I think since I work out best in the afternoon; going to the farmer’s market in the morning, eating breakfast and then heading out at 1:30pm was like the miracle formula.  The 6 Cran-Razz Clif Shot Bloks I took throughout the run probably helped too.

(P.S. I LOVE how everyone thought the banana was an ice cream cone…ice cream in the mornin’? Heck yah.)

snacks at the grocery store (which were BOTH free - all hail coupon cutting!)

After the run, I tried to eat intuitively; not shove down massive calories because I could (which, don’t get me wrong, was reallllyyyy tempting…).  And it worked!  I would eat, usually feel full for an hour or two then was massively hungry again. Vroom, vroom metabolism!

For dindin, I whipped up a lil’ somethang with my farmer’s market finds

bed of mixed greens
zucchini + roma tomato (sauteed in EVOO + garlic)
lemon basil
lotsa parmigiano reggiano goodness
a side of 7-grain Kashi crackers

CIMG4854

Plus, a post-dinner handful of Kashis.  Those things are ridiculously good.

And a dessert a la this girl and that girl

Then, being the wild n’ crazy grandma I am, I met up with my fabulous friend Brett for dranks (two Spotted Cow beers to be exact) then went dancing (and played wingwoman for him) at the local gay bar.  I<3 gay men.  Ummm…best. time. in a long time.  If you say dancing after running 18 miles, I am still there.  Good times were had, and I was in bed by 1am.  Perf.

This morning, I had breakfast in bed…

1 cup Stonyfield BaNilla yog
sprinkle o’ flax
sprinkle o’ almond meal
1/2 cup raspberries
1/4 cup Optimum Blueberry Cinnamon cereal

refreshing + delicious

Now I am sitting at a local coffeeshop, swiggin’ my cuppa joe and enjoying the gorgey day.  Happy Sunday 🙂

Are you a coupon cutter? I never used to be, but now I love it!!!

Welcome to America’s Dairyland! August 22, 2009

CIMG4754

Madison a.k.a. the state capital of Wisconsin yo!

Welcome ladies and gents, children and babies, friends and families to the home of cheese – WISCONSIN (pronounced Wiss-cahhhhn-sin if you are from the Midwest)!  I thought y’all might like a little pic of where yours truly roamed her college days as well as current days.

FYI: The State Capitol’s dome is one of the largest in the world.  Ya heard it here.

Flashback to last night…

Believe it or not, I got EVERYTHING done on my to-do list, with a few modifications of course.  I scrapped the Mint thang because online budgeting was too dang confusing.  Instead, I relied on my old friend Excel to whip up a nice lil’ spreadsheet.  Second, I found no plug-in converter at Target and forgot the oven cleaner.  However, I did pick up some cooking spray, butter, a dress and the new Shape magazine.  Damn you Tarjay!

POM Pomegranate Hibiscus Green Tea

The lovely peeps at POM (shoutout to you Molly!) sent me some of their POMx tea to try.  It’s got a new name, new flavors and is light!  It’s real brewed tea with 100% POM juice and other natural flavas.  I’ve also got Pomegranate Lychee Green Tea + Pomegranate Wildberry White to try!

After reading the label (always a must!), I have one small frustration: fructose + erythritol-sweetened.  Although these claim to be “natural,” we all know the truth from the Vitamin Water 10 shenanigans of yore.

This mornin’…

With 15 miles on the brain, I set my alarm for 7am.  That way I could eat, wait an hour then venture out around 8am to get the torture party started.  Unfortunately, the allergies + cold that has been brewing all week reared its head when my alarm went off.  Hence, hit the snooze and slept for another hour.

I woke-up at 8am, still not feeling the greatest (think sinus headache, sore throat + phlegm), but I downed a plain white bagel with a bit o’ buttah and read some bloggies while I let the food settle.  Then I geared up and headed out!

Distance: 15.04 miles (according to MapMyRun)

Time: 2:50

Average pace: 10:00/mile

No, I don’t have a Garmin – these are estimates done the old-fashioned way!  If you are a math whiz, you will see 10:00/mile for 15 miles does not equal that time.  However, I am taking into consideration a crapload of stoplights I had to wait for, two Clif Shot Blok + water breaks (2-4 minutes each) and MapMyRun error.

By the way, head over to Matt’s blog at No Meat Athlete for an awesome guide to surving a 1/2 or full-marathon!

Overall, the run felt pretty good.  I definitely felt sinusy (is that a word?), so I just kept it nice, steady and slow.  The weather was fabulous (60 degrees when I left the house – PERFECT) and since I did it alone with no music or friends running with me, I was very happy.

Happier to devour this when I got home though…

CIMG4751

Pineapple Chobs, Cherry Cashew PURE Bar + strawbs (along with a swimming pool-size water)

I forgot to mention this to ya yesterday, but I got my own swag bag of goodness in the mail yesterday from winning Kristin’s giveaway.  Go check out her DROOLWORTHY photographs and show some love to a fellow Midwestern!

PURE bars, PURE tees and a PURE bag

PURE bars, PURE tees and a PURE bag

By the time I got home, talked to the ‘rents, showered, ate + grabbed a Cafe Au Lait (1/2 skim milk + 1/2 coffee), I missed most of the Madtown Farmer’s Market :(.  However, I did score 1 bunch of leeks + 1 bunch of beets for $2 from a stand just closing up.

Then it was time to visit a Madison landmark…Ian’s Pizza!

CIMG4755

no need to adjust your screens...that is in fact MAC N' CHEESE pizza!

You have no idea how many pieces of this has been consumed by yours truly at about 2:15am on a Saturday night (slash Sunday morning) back in the college days.

I arrived back at la casa de Holly, having shopped around for about 4 miles.  So yes, my legs hate me right now. Hence why I am going to finish chomping my Banana Nut Cheerios + sunflower seeds and finish dranking my green tea + Emergen-C packet to kick this allergy cold and make some dindin.  Gots lots of fruits and veggies to make up for!

Some q’s, just because I like to get to know y’all better…

(1) What is your state capital? Obv, look above.

(2) What is your favorite cheese?  Gruyere…I’m classy like that.

(3) What is your favorite pizza?  Cheese for everyday ordering, Mac n’ Cheese on special occasions.

If you want to win those new, elusive Lara flavors, you have until Sunday night!  Write me a lovely limerick about your fave Lara here and get entered for 1 of 3 chances.  Woowoo!

Running Well, Wedding Bells + Internet Hell August 16, 2009

Yep, that pretty much sums up my weekend.

Let’s start with the good stuff – I got up at 7am bright n’ early on Saturday morning and ate a nice carb-heavy pre-run meal consisting of a 1/2 cup Special K with 1/2 cup skim milk and a chocolate chip granola bar.  There is no better running fuel than pure white carbs.

Then, yours truly did what she has NEVER done before – run 16 miles!

The first 9 miles went well despite the Minnesota heat and humidity.  I made sure to make frequent water stops (also stopping to splash water on my head to cool down) before returning back to my friend Ashley’s where I popped 3 Clif Black Cherry Shot Bloks and some Diet Cherry Pepsi (don’t judge).  Then Ashley headed out with me to finish the last 7 miles, and my other friend Megan joined us for the last 3 miles.  My friends are seriously the best :).

In the end? The run went AWESOME.  I finished in my marathon pace of just under 10:00 minutes/mile, equaling about 2 hours and 40 minutes.  I seriously think I could have gone even further. It was that kind of glorious running day.

Indian buffet of love from Whole Foods...with a Cilantro Chutney Samosa!

Seriously…if I could marry Indian food I would.  Shhhhh, don’t tell McMac I am cheating on him ;).

After lunchie, it was off to IKEA –  ummm, holy anxiety!  Soooo many people, soooo many things to look at and tooooo little time.  Luckily, I had my trusted Meggy Moo in tow.  If this isn’t a friend, I don’t know what is:

Then, I gussied myself up and headed off to my girl Charlotte’s wedding!  Charlotte and I studied abroad together in college in London, and we’ve pretty much been soulmates ever since.  LOVE that girl.  I also got to see Brittany (who also studied abroad with us) for the first time in years.  LOVE that girl too.

Yeah, that’s right.  My girl Char had a plethora of CHEESECAKES at her wedding instead of regular ol’ wedding cake.  That is reason #4,276 that we are friends.  Brittho and I may have split an additional piece of Key Lime Cheesecake.  Just sayin…

When I got home, I crashed harder than Lindsey Lohan’s career.

After almost 10 hours of glorious sleep, I woke up to coffee and a lovely chat with Ashley.  Then, right as I started contemplating eating Ash’s carpet, it was 10:30am and time for me to meet another fabulous lady you all know – Ms. Angharad!

We met at the Uptown Diner…looks like a total dive from the outside, but inside you will find such fabulous delicacies such as this…

After brekkie, I skedaddled back on the road (wasn’t I just driving?) back to Madison.  Five LONG hours later, I arrived safely.  After successful shopping trip #2 at the co-op (including a free coupon for a French Meadow bread product and a bottle of organic agave syrup – score!), I made it back to my apartment to find the Internet still not working.

WTF?!?!?!?!

I can’t handle this.  ATT is apparently coming on Tuesday to fix it, but that means another two days of paying for coffee at the cute coffeeshop for free Wi-Fi.  I guess there could be worse thangs…

I just scrolled through the post and realized it’s practically a marathon long, which by the way, the Twin Cities Marathon is in T-minus 49 days.  Eeeeeeek!

Bloggy thangs I still have planned (even if they are taking uber-longer than I expected):

  • Marathon training post
  • Holly Investigates… post (It’s been 75% done for like three weeks now!)
  • Two exciting announcements
  • Updates

Hang in there my children…mama WILL eventually get there!

Now, I am downing the rest of my drank and gettin’ down to read some bloggy love!  Say a prayer for my Internet por favor and have a relaxing Sunday night!

Highlight of the weekend?  Put it out there peeps!  Mine was probably the amazing run on Saturday morning and the pictures Char, Britt and I took in the photo booth.  They were epic.

Let Freedom Ring, Part 1 July 5, 2009

HAPPY 4th OF JULY EVERYONE!

u19752516

Greetings from the state of cheese – Wisconsin!  Before I begin on the shenanigans of the day, it is only appropriate to start at the beginning!  Yesterday, I was a total cleaning machine.  Mid-afternoon, I broke for a lil’ snackie to keep me fueled as I whipped the house into tip-top shape.  Enter a hot mess…

1/4 cup Optimum Pumpkin Granola Cereal
1/4 cup Kashi GoLean
1/4 cup rolled oats
1/2 cup skim milk
1.5 tbsp of PB

CIMG3980

After putting in a hard days work (I sound like I’m living in like year 1890, BTW), I met up with these two lovebirds for some apps & drinks before hitting the road to Wisconsin:

CIMG3982

Ashley and Maxx got engaged exactly one week ago from today!  They are seriously too cute :).  Maxx’s sister was actually in town as well, so the four of us met up at MOTO-I, a Japanese restaurant in Uptown Minneapolis, for some yummy drinks and eats.  You could easily pass this restaurant if you weren’t looking for it, but it is the only place outside Japan that brews their own sake.  Pretty cool, no?

I started with a MN-brewed Summit Oatmeal Stout with some kaffir lime-spiced peanuts (shared amongst us all)…

CIMG3983

Then a sampler platter of assorted eats (l-r): a Tofu, Ponzu & Sweet Chilli Steamed Bun, sticky rice and a sweet potato pancake thingy (I don’t think that’s the technical term…).

CIMG3984

The restaurant was super yummy, and the best part?  They had SHUFFLEBOARD!  Oh yeah, us four definitely squeezed in a game before we had to part ways.  After lots of chatting, it was finally time to hit the road to head home to the fam.  Of course, when traveling, snacks & beverages are a MUST.  If I am going to be driving 3 hours dang it, I’m going to need some good tunes, good munchies and good caffeine – a pint of blueberries (I am a serious fruit fiend today) and a Almond Joy blondie (soooo good!):

CIMG3986

CIMG3989

Finally I arrived to good ol’ home sweet home.  Then went straight to bed.  For real.

After a glorious night’s sleep in my own bed (aka best thing ever), I woke up and shocker of shockers! didn’t have coffee this morning.  Instead, I guzzled a big glass of water in preparation for today’s 10-mile run as well as a classic Holly breakfast – PB+B on toasted Ezekiel!

CIMG3990

A funny thing happened – at home, my parent’s buy Skippy Natural peanut butter, which was totally my old FAVORITE PB.  Seriously.  I used it for breakfast this morning however, and I couldn’t believe how kind of artificial and odd it tasted after only eating the good stuff (PB made only from peanuts + salt) for like a year now.  I didn’t like it at all – one of those little things that kind of show you where you’ve been and where you are now :).

Then it was time for the weekly long run – this time, the big 1-0 for mileage.  Luckily, Mama Everythingtarian (she’s totally one hot  fit mama) ran the first 7 miles with me, which made the time go by so fast.  Then the last 3 miles, I stepped my game up and hoofed it – completing the 10 miles in just about 100 minutes (10:00/mile).  I took her at an easy pace and felt really good!

When I got back, I guzzled water and stretched for a good 15 minutes.  After about another 1/2 hour, I was ready to eat and devoured a yummalicious lunch…Blueberry + Banana Smoothie (1 cup skim milk, 1 cup frozen blueberries, 1 banana + 1 huge handful spinach) plus a Jumbo Salad (spinach, tomato, broccoli, cucumber, peppers + drizzle Newman’s Light Balsamic) and a Berry Oatmeal Almond Blondie!

CIMG3991

CIMG3992

CIMG3993

Then, it was POOL TIME!

CIMG3994

1, 2, 3 - JUMP!

Two things: (1) My mom has awesome camera skills (ummm...where did my other sister go?), and (2) I did not purposely wear a 4th of July swimsuit - I swear it's the only suit I own.

After the pool, it was totes time to whip up some dindin!  I helped Barbie in the kitchen and chopped veggies like I’ve never chopped them before.  I was totally getting snacky, so I had a Tahini Cookie (x2) and a string cheese to tide me over until chow time.

CIMG4024

Look at this lovely array of dinner eats – I love coming home for a plethora of reasons (I swear Mom & Dad!), but one of my favorites it getting spoiled with yummy eats I can’t afford myself (i.e. salmon).  On my plate:  1/2 garlic breadstick (from the fab Amish bakers at the farmer’s market), grilled salmon, roasted veggies & sweet potato fries!

CIMG4026

Seriously. So. Good.

Dessert was equally fab.  You’ve just got to love a holiday where you can celebrate your independence and chow down at the same time – thank you America!  Enter strawberry shortcake + Almond Joy Blondie + vanilla ice cream.  Seconds, anyone?

CIMG4028

That’s it for part one! I can tell you are just all on the edge of your seats for “Let Freedom Ring, Part 2” but don’t you worry kids – a full wrap-up of fireworks and family fun (including Mama & Daddy Everythingtarian!) is coming your way tomorrow!

Hope you are all enjoying your 4th of July, relaxing with friends & family and taking time to enjoy life (including food, fun & flippin’ good times)!

Shopping is My Cardio June 27, 2009

This is perhaps my #1 reason why I love Carrie Bradshaw, Sex and the City + SJP so much :).

After work, I cruised home jai hoing and listening to the stellar beats of the “Slumdog Millionaire” CD.  Suddenly, I knew exactly what I wanted for dinner – INDIAN!

CIMG3851

I picked up my all-time fave Indian eats – Baingan Bhartha (eggplant mashed with tomatoes & spices) – and devoured this delicious dish along with a side of whole wheat tandoori roti on the glorious outside deck of my friend Megan’s house.  I ate all of the Baingan Bhartha & roti and none of the rice (it was nothing special).

After dindin, Meg & I went shopping at the mall squeezed in our cardio.  But not before we made a quick stop to enjoy a treat just because it tastes oh so good

CIMG3852

Dairy Queen Krunch Cone anyone?  It’s Mama Everythingtarian’s fave, and one of mine too!  Lots of nummy sprinkles, crunchy peanut bites and rice krispies on a vanilla cone.

The night also included a 2nd trip to Tarjay (oops!) where I picked up some much-needed bananas + yogurt, but seriously dudes, my fridge and pantry are bare bones.  Otherwise, I was a good girl and didn’t buy anything else at the mall.  Although, I was tempted by a new pair of running shoes :).  Meg & I got in some lovely friend bonding last night before she headed off for a weekend at the cabin – so jealous!

After sleeping 10 hours last night, I woke up this morning feeling well-rested (although my hair was another story…) and dug into a quick and simple brekkie (shoutout to my new British bloggy friend, Angharad!) of Target Heartsmart cereal, sliced banana + skim milk along with a cuppa joe + skim milk.

CIMG3860

Then it was time for 9-miler.

For the first 6 miles, the run was nothing special.  I kept it at a slow 10:00/mile pace and just enjoyed being outside, soaking in the fresh air.  However, the most mysterious thing happened.  At about mile 6, I started feeling mondo good.  The last three miles, I probably ran at an 8:00/mile pace and finished up feeling ah-may-zing!  I came home, chugged a whole Nalgene and indulged in more PB art…

Stonyfield Farms Organic Vanilla yogurt
1/2 cup Target Heartsmart cereal
1/2 sliced banana
1 tbsp. PB

CIMG3862

Peace, love and happiness.  We need them all.

Another shoutout to Miss K for her may-juh LOVEly morning breakfast art!

Plus an Apple Pie Larabar for extra replenishing energy:

CIMG3863

Now I am watching Barefoot Contessa – one of my faves – on the Food Network but need to go shower and get ready to enjoy whatever I want to do with the rest of the day!  Woowoo – this has not happened in a long time.

Do you have a favorite TV cook/chef?  Mine is definitely Ina Garten – that Barefoot Contessa may not always be healthy, but I love her classic, simple and use of whole ingredients.

get your reading glasses on… June 18, 2009

…and get ready for a long blog post!  Two days worth of foodie goodness is a lot to take in at once!  And I promise, if you read this entire post, there will be a worthwhile treat waiting for you at the end, wink wink ;).

First things first, we need to start back at YESTERDAY morning’s breakfast…enter a warming bowl of oatmeal on a not-so-warm day.  Tuesday’s mix included:

1/3 cup rolled oats + 1 tbsp. oat bran
1/2 banana
1/3 cup blueberries
1 tbsp. raspberry preserves
1 tbsp. peanut butter
sprinkle of slivered almonds

CIMG3710

It was like PB+J+B oatmeal!

Lunch was just as delicious – it was one of my yummy black bean sammies!  I layered two slices of toasted Ezekiel bread with mustard, mashed black beans, tomato, spinach, cucumber and avocado.  Along with my last VeggieGirl blondie :(…it was a smashing lunch!

CIMG3712

This is honestly one of my favorite sandwiches.  The only catch is you MUST have avocado.  It just makes the sandwich whole!

Snacktime brought a new Chobani flavor to my tastebuds…strawberry!  Honestly, I wasn’t super excited about strawberry because I feel as though strawberry is the token yogurt flavor.  However, I totally loved it!  It was perfectly fruity and strawberry-ish…along with some berries and a Nature Valley honey + oats granola bar, it tasted very fruit crisp-like (aka delicious).

CIMG3713

Also, I forgot to tell you Chobani is coming out with both Pomegranate and Pineapple flavors!  Umm…yummm – I need some of that now!

The day yesterday went by pretty fast, although by the time I left work it was pouring rain.  I was so mad because yesterday was supposed to be the real day one of marathon training (I don’t run on treadmills b/c I hate them with a burning passion).  No gal wants to start off training for a 26.2 mile run on a bad foot.  You want to please the running gods, not piss em’ off :).  By the time I got home over an hour later (a drive that is only supposed to take 1/2 hour), my patience was wearing quite thin.

I crafted the quickest dinner possible…junk salad and quick garlic toast!

I toasted a slice of Ezekiel bread then slathered it with a bit of Earth Balance spread and garlic powder.  For the salad, I threw together…

2 cups spinach
1/2 cup chickpeas
1/4 cup sundried tomatoes
1 chopped celery stalk
2 chopped carrots
1/4 cup cucumber
1/2 avocado
sprinkle of slivered almonds
Wee Willy’s Homemade Red French Dressing

CIMG3715

Of course, I needed a little treat after such a frustrating drive home :).  Enter one of my new favorite concoctions: mashed banana + PB over granola!  It was a big, hot mess!

CIMG3716

Then I slept for 12 hours.

Waking up feeling ever so refreshed, relaxed and rejuvenated, I delved into another bowl of oatmeal, seeing as the weather outside was still a bit damp.  For some reason, I totally deem a warming bowl of oatmeal quite necessary on any kind of morning that isn’t warm and sunny.  Today was a classic combo of…

1/3 cup rolled oats + 1 tbsp. oat bran
1 banana
LOTS of cinnamon
heaping glop of peanut butter

CIMG3717

Along with my usual morning cuppa joe with 2% milk (I don’t always post my coffee pics, but you can bet your bottom dollar I have it every morning!  Although with Mr. NoMeatAthlete’s help, I am cutting down!)…

CIMG3718

Snacktime was a handful of blackberries, which are so much fun to photograph.  Look how pretty they are!

CIMG3721

Filled with newfound energy, I attacked a couple projects at work before truly starting my marathon training today!  My sister and I have decided to base our training off of Senor Hal Higdon – running man extraordinaire!  Click here for the two novice schedules we are working off of.  Since I am one day off, I am going to run on Friday (instead of it being a rest day).  Today’s three miles were glorious and felt awesome!

Back from my lunch/run break, I dug into a nice sampler of items: PB+J on Ezekiel bread, 3/4 cup celery sticks (love that crunch!) and Pirate’s Booty Barbecue flavor.  Along with a blueberry pomegranate acai Vitamin Water 10 (lovin’ this stuff!)…lunch was delish!

The new products…

CIMG3722

Altogether now…

CIMG3724

Afternoon snacky was more Chobani Peach Greek yogurt, blueberries/blackberries + TJ’s Blueberry Muesli.  One of my fave snack combos of all-time…

CIMG3726

After work, I headed over to my lady Ashley’s house for some good time girl chat before beach volleyball tonight.  We caught up, gabbed away and made dinner togetha.  Ash is a healthy friend o’ mine, so I have no worries cooking up a yummy dinner with her.  Tonight, we had a little B.F.D. – breakfast for dinner!

Cinnamon French toast with a veggie frittata baby!

CIMG3727

I slathered my French toast with a little peanut butter (naturally!) and a drizzle of maple syrup.  Gotta love B.F.D. – it always hits the spot!

After dinner, we changed it up and headed to volleyball, where get this – we won all three games!  This is a team first people.  We are used to being the team that the other team wins all three games against.  Today, we were that team.  Woowoo!

It gets even better…although it’s quite late again (good thing I got all that sleep :)), I am still clearly on a volleyball high and feeling super generous….so….

Seriously, I could not be more excited tomorrow is Friday.  This has been a long, draining week, and I can’t wait to relax and enjoy doing nothing.  Today was another busy day…the day started out with a groggy wake-up followed by a bowl of Kashi Honey Sunshine (aka Cap’n Crunch) with vanilla almond milk and a banana with peanut butter.  Perfect and filling!

CIMG3604

The morning at work was really busy and around 11am I broke for a small lil’ peach

CIMG3605

My peaches this week have been amazing!  One of life’s simple pleasures really, a perfectly ripe and juicy peach 🙂  Work was a bit stressful today, but with the help of my yummy Tempeh Thai Peanut Stir Fry from last night, it was a little more delicious.  Too delicious.  I ate the whole thing before I realized I had yet to take a picture!

I had planned on taking a long walk during lunch, but due to some logistical issues, I didn’t get to go :(.  Today I really could have used the endorphin boost.  Instead, I relied on an nice (yet oddly-shaped) apple with some PB for a perfect protein + carbs + fiber afternoon snack.

After work, I was happy to get out and bask in the fresh air.  Not for long however, I had a 5:30pm dinner date with one of my high school friend’s Stacy who I haven’t seen in 4eva!  She is probably one of the the cutest, funniest gal I know and also can appreciate the balance of a healthy life.  Hence why we two ladies hit up one of my all-time faves…Good Earth Cafe.

It definitely deserved a holy yum!

Bread + hummus for starters (a small taste of each for moi)…

Salmon with mango salsa, brown rice pilaf and broccoli for Stacy…

Veggie enchiladas for myself…

It was soooo good to catch up with Stacy!  I love seeing people like that – sometime you forget how good it is to see old friends :).  The delicious dinner + company definitely brightened my dismal day.  After dinner, I headed over to my sister’s house to pick-up a lovely delivery…

Thanks to the fabulous people at Chobani for sending me some of their Greek yogurt to try, especially you Morgan!  Chobani Greek yogurt comes in six flavors – strawberry, blueberry, vanilla, peach, honey and plain – and is all-natural, hormone free and low in sugar.  Don’t forget too, it’s creamy, has lots of probiotics and full of protein.

I am especially excited to try it because I have not been able to find Chobani Greek yogurt at any of my local grocers, and that peach Chobani has been calling my name!  You better believe you will see Chobani once (or twice) on the blog tomorrow, complete with a full review!

Also…I have some more big news…

I signed up for the Medtronic Twin Cities Marathon on October 4th!!!

Yes, I am pretty sure I have gone mad, but my sister and I are doing in TOGETHER!  Ahhh…training shall commence in July, then hopefully 16 weeks, I will be crossing the finish line.  We already decided this is not going to be a thing where we worry about time; as long as we finish, we will be happy :).

On that note, this girl is out.  My bed is calling my name…can you hear it…

Was anyone else’s day busy crazy like mine?  Please tell me I’m not the only one!
